If due to infection, antibiotic therapy or even removal may be necessary as outlined in the question on infection. If due to impaired healing, the precise factor(s) must be identified and addressed, though the breast implant needs may be salvaged. If Caused by trauma, and no breast implant exposure is noted, either primary, or delayed wound closure may be used.
