Lakeland Facelift Recovery Tips

Now that you have gone through your Facelift in Lakeland with Dr. Gerzenshtein, we need to make sure you stay on the right track to a full, beautiful recovery!

Upon waking up, you will feel very sore and tender. You will also have 2 tubes coming from each side of your face, these are drains that are to suck out excess fluids. Your face will be wrapped up pretty tight as well, hindering you from seeing the incisions and any changes. However with a little patience, you will be all healed and looking better than ever.

Hopefully, you have a good 2 weeks off from your daily duties. It is extremely important to get your rest, and lots of it. When sleeping, we highly recommend doing so in a recliner so you are able to keep your head more elevated than the rest of your body. This will especially help the first night, when you still have the drains in on each side. It is also important to avoid any fast movements and bending over, we do not want all the blood rushing to your face. Walking around every so often will help with the blood flow.

When it comes to diet, the more nutritious, the better! During the healing process your body may need a little extra boost and a healthy diet is the perfect answer. Make sure to keep up with your medications also,  the antibiotics will help combat the possibility of an infection and the pain-killers are to be taken as needed. It is extremely important that you follow through and complete the course of all your medications.

The day following your surgery, you will have a postoperative visit where you get your dressings changed and drains removed. Over the next week, it is important to remember your face is going to look worse before it looks better. It will likely swell and bruise more, but again patience is key.

Before you know it, you will look into the mirror and see a beautiful new you!!!
